Whoa, just realized I never posted the final environments from last week - I'm surprised I forgot! Anyway, here's the two environments I did from Jo-Jo and the Fiendish Lot - The Tick Tock Club (Digital) and the Jo-Jo's graveyard (gouache).

Also, my in-class tablet drawing work from Tuesday. :)

Curiosities

Sooo, this week we have v 3.0 of a project from several weeks ago that I never managed to get quite right until now.  The assignment was to do a square-format black and white ink piece of a creature described in the book Beasts! - which we randomly chose. Mine was the Thunderbeast, or Raiju, which is essentially an electric ferret (and, coincidentally, the creature that Raichu, Pikachu, & co. are based off of.) I may eventually post a colored version of my second attempt at this, which I think could be bearable with a little TLC.

Also, my tablet drawing piece for this week (I think Tony and Matt are able to identify my work solely by the fact that 99% of the time, Beth is my model. I should get someone else to draw her and really confuse them.) We had the option of adding something we worked "from our imagination" into the piece, so I made Beth into conjoined twins.  I really really like the idea of this - I'm planning on going back into it and hopefully really polishing it up once school ends.

Character Designs!

My two character designs for my Concept art final. I have to do two environments this week now. I'm very pleased with how these turned out - they were a lot of fun. They're two characters from the book JoJo and the Fiendish Lot by Andrew Auseon, Max (who is actually dead, hence the black and white) and Violet (who scanned funny :/).

Some stuff from tablet drawing! We've been using colored lights with the models in class, which is sooo much fun. I actually might have to invest in some colored light bulbs myself. :) So, some in class model work and one assignment - to draw just an environment. I really really wish I has a chance to apply some of this technical skill that I'm gaining to regular illustration - which is a class that I consistently look like an idiot in, but it doesn't look like I'll get the chance...

Trial and Error

Uhhh, accidentally posted this whole post to my class blog a few minutes ago, deleted everything in my panic, and am now too lazy to retype the whole thing. So, in summary, here is a sketch for an illustration projects that got shot down, more color use from tablet drawing, and a charcoal piece from life drawing.
