Color sucessssss

Starting to get the hang of this! Now if only I was about twice as fast...

So, finally started using color in tablet drawing, which is simultaneously more fun than black and white and about a million times more frustrating. This is like my... fourth attempt at using color for this class, and I'm finally pretty satisfied with the finished piece. In the spirit of classmate process-sharing (which really helped me get the hang of color for this piece) I took some in-progress screen shots to post as well. :)

 

Those boots are like the greatest thing I have done all semester. Although they did look a bit better with the white outline...

Sorry for the  sporadic posting - it's a double combo of me being really busy and of a lot of projects lately either being really terrible or multi-week monstrosities. So I have a couple okayish tablet drawings things to post, concept art is in the middle of a multi-weeker, and illustration's assignment from last week in in the process of being reconcepted and redone.

 

On the plus side, while on break I didn't have enough time to get caught up, I did have time to finally update my resume and design and order my business cards! Which came today!

 

I think they look pretty snazzy.

Concept art/ Crows

For concept art we had to pick a story/videogame/book/movie we really loved and redesign one character and one environment for it - because I'm unoriginal, and because I love it, I decided to do Beauty and the Beast.
So in my version, Beauty's a modern-day, urban, monster-hunting chick, and the Beast's castle is actually an abandoned 1920's subway station.

 

Also finished up a piece for illustration - this is the final based off of that sketchbook spread from a few weeks ago.

Catching Up

It's been a busy couple of weeks - but spring break is finally on the horizon. So, here's some projects I did over the last few weeks while I was running around like a lunatic and not sleeping.

The following post contains *NUDITY* and fairly graphic *LADY BITS* from tablet drawing. If that's going to upset you, I recommend you not continue.

 

Assignment last week from tablet drawing - a torso with a twist. Beth was kind enough to model for me. c:

 

In-class drawing - maybe around two hours? We were supposed to draw both models but I completely failed to manage my time well enough to work on both haha.
