Yes, it's based on a Gil Elvgren piece - I'm not pretending otherwise. But I did not trace or paint over the original, therefore I consider this my own work as long as I continue to give due credit. I certainly spent long enough on it.
holy shit, dat helmet. girl. the rendering on the skin is super sweet/shiny (in a good way, not anime desu). i would feel happier if the composition opened up a little on the top! that is it; i am impressed and excited to work more with digital painterly rendering.
